Acknowledge: Day 3

“Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.”
Psalm 91:14 NIV

Thought

In grief it is normal to immerse yourself, even to lose yourself, for a while in self-involvement. To survive, you must sort through the myriad shifts forced upon you by the death of your loved one. This is the push and pull of adjustment; this is the first step away from the valley of the shadow of death.

Prayer

God, I love you; I acknowledge your name. You rescue and protect me from the perils of grief that assail my soul. Thank you for your faithfulness to me. Amen.

Assurance

I gratefully acknowledge the steady presence of God as I grieve toward adjustment.
