Adapt: Day 2

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself.
2 Corinthians 5:18-19 NRSV

Thought

Adapting and adjusting occur simultaneously in grief, externally and internally. In grief, you are compelled to reconcile the loss of your loved one to your life going forward. Reconciliation within yourself requires both adjusting and adapting. As the inevitable advance of adjustment proceeds on your upward climb out of the valley of the shadow of death, you adapt. You are positively reconciled to your experience of grief. Your renewed confidence then quietly becomes a force for your outreach of understanding to others who grieve.

Prayer

God, thank you for your new creation. I give you thanks that everything old is becoming new. Amen.

Assurance

When I adapt, I awaken to this fundamental truth: life is worth living.
