Beyond: Day 6

“As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love.”

John 15:9 NRSV

Thought

Jesus teaches the power of love through analogy. He is the vine, God is the vine-grower, and you are the beloved branch. As the budding tendril waiting to bear ripe, firm fruit, depend on the root as you abide and grow in God’s love for you.

Prayer

God, the beauty and power of your love is the greatest gift of life, even in the face of death and grief. May I abide in you, waiting to bear fruit. Amen.

Assurance

God loves me with an everlasting love.
