Change: Day 1
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him...Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
James 1:12, 17 NIV
Thought
Grief is adjusting to change. Death is what happened to change your life forever. When your loved one died, everything changed. In grief, you may resist every change thrust upon you. As much as you might want to contain or limit grief, the fact is that no amount of personal resolve or discipline can change the very nature of pain and heartache. You are tried and tested. Be assured that despite all the changes, God does not change.
Prayer
God, in shifting shadow moments it is still difficult to stand in your heavenly light. I pray for strength to withstand the test of grief so that I may wear again the crown of life. Amen.
Assurance
The shadow of grief shifts toward light and life as I adjust to change.
