Comfort: Day 6

This is my comfort in my distress, that your promise gives me life.
Psalm 119:50 NRSV

Thought

Comfort means “with strength.” To be comforted is to be made strong. In the distress of grief, your comfort and strength are from the Holy Spirit, who is your great Comforter. Grief is a part of life. For a while it may become your life. In comfort you are strengthened; through comfort you have life.

Prayer

God, even as you comfort me in my distress, I claim your promise of life. Thank you for the gift of the great Comforter. Amen.

Assurance

In comfort there is strength; in strength there is life.
