Contentment: Day 5
I have learned to be content with whatever I have.
Philippians 4:11 NRSV
Thought
What you have now after the death of your loved one is not what you planned for or counted on in life. You miss the sweet and the simple moments of daily interaction. You even miss the routine, the order, and the very predictability of life. Contentment is learning to be satisfied with what is, rather than longing for what was. Contentment is part of the learning curve of grief.
Prayer
God, you encourage me in the tranquility of contentment. At this final station of grief, may I be content with today and hope for tomorrow. Amen.
Assurance
I will be content with what I have.
