Forgiving Yourself: Day 3
Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Colossians 3:13 NRSV
Thought
In grief the hardest person to forgive is yourself. You hold on to self-condemnation for a while; you are emotionally and spiritually unaccustomed to healthy self-love and self-esteem in the aftermath of the death of your loved one. Forgiveness is not optional. You must forgive yourself in order to complete the journey through grief.
Prayer
God, I am grateful for the assurance of your forgiveness. May I find in your example the inspiration to forgive myself. Amen.
Assurance
When I forgive myself, I quiet trouble in my heart.
