God's Love: Day 7

So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them.

Thought

When you contemplate with introspection and gratitude your journey through grief, you recognize that where you are now is sacred evidence of God’s abiding love for you. Your life in God’s love before the death of your loved one is enhanced and augmented by the intense spiritual experience of God’s love through grief. You know God’s love from the front row of pain and sorrow. “Love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart” (Deuteronomy 6:5-6 NRSV).

Prayer

God, I believe with all of my heart in your love for me. On this day of rest may I abide with faith in your love, even as you abide in me. Amen.
