Grief is Trust - Perspective
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures through all generations....
The LORD is trustworthy in all he promises
and faithful in all he does.
Psalm 145:13 NIV
Thought
In grief, trust is fragile. For a while you retreat from trust to question its place in your life. You assess the value of trust. Do you trust that God has a plan for your life beyond the pain of grief? Can you release your mistrust of others and embrace flawed relationships? Can you trust yourself as a competent person only temporarily disabled by the experience of grief? Can you open your heart and spirit to trust life again? Grief is a tenacious thief of trust. Move toward life; trust in God.
Prayer
God, you have been trustworthy to all generations and will continue to be so for as long as your everlasting kingdom endures. I am grateful for your faithfulness to me as I trust anew in life and in you. Amen.
Assurance
God’s promises are trustworthy.
