Grief is Trust - Preparation
Surely God is my salvation;
I will trust, and will not be afraid,
for the LORD GOD is my strength and my might;
he has become my salvation.
Isaiah 12:2 NRSV
Thought
Grief is trust. Trust and fear are at opposite ends of the spectrum of human emotion. In grief it becomes almost a reflex to succumb to fear rather than live in bold declaration of trust. What God expects of you is trust, especially as you grieve. Even when you cannot fully comprehend where life has been or where it is leading, you respond to God in grief with a love that dares to trust.
Prayer
God, you offer me the might of your saving grace. As I learn again to trust, may I renounce the fear of grief and live in your strength. Amen.
Assurance
In grief I am learning the meaning of absolute trust.
