Healing: Day 3

One who is often reproved, yet remains stubborn, will suddenly be broken beyond healing.
Proverbs 29:1 NRSV

Thought

In your moments of acute woundedness, you may resist healing from grief with uncharacteristic but willful stubbornness. You may think that you are broken beyond healing, that you never will be whole again. If this is your personal assessment, you may try to anesthetize your pain with easy remedies. Likely you have found that this does not work. Quick cures seldom last. God is the one true source of reconstructive relief from the pain of your grief on the way to healing.

Prayer

God, there are moments when I stubbornly resist healing. Yet I want to live again beyond the broken heart. Reprove my spirit until it complies with yours. Amen.

Assurance

There is no timeline or prescribed cure date for grief.
