Healing: Day 4
I mourn, and horror grips me.
Is there no balm in Gilead?
Is there no physician there?
Why then is there no healing
for the wound of my people?
Jeremiah 8:21-22 NIV
Thought
Relentless, unremitting grief is like an infection; it invades the wound of your soul and stubbornly resists treatment. When grief permanently overwhelms you, it can destroy your very will to live. If your grief is tenacious, spiritual healing begins when you affirm, at last, that you want to be made well. You want your journey through grief to be over.
Prayer
God, you are the balm in Gilead; you are the great physician. Heal the wounds of my soul. I want to be made well. Amen.
Assurance
My healing is the gradual process of becoming whole.
