Individuate: Day 2
Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.
1 Corinthians 12:27 NRSV
Thought
Developing the self-confidence to value yourself as a worthwhile, stand-alone individual is a formidable hurdle of grief. This is the process of finding yourself again apart from the context of your loved one. As you transition through grief, slowly and gradually you re-individuate. Or perhaps you truly individuate for the first time in life as you uncover your identity without reference to your loved one. When you individuate, you find yourself within the whole of life and explore possibilities beyond your own imagination.
Prayer
God, you made me like no other human being. Thank you for membership in your body. Amen.
Assurance
I appreciate the personal, God-given qualities that are uniquely my own.
