Joy: Day 5

You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, so that my soul may praise you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

Thought

Grief turns into dancing when your zest for new life simply can no longer be contained. You want to live again in exuberant joy. On that day you cast aside forever the symbolic garments of grief, ready to put on the fresh new suit of joy. Joy is the moment when it is impossible to be silent or wait even one minute longer for new life to burst forth. Your soul at last rejoices.

Prayer

God, joy is refreshment for my soul after the long journey through grief. I can no longer be silent. I give thanks to you forever. Amen.
