Life: Day 6
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope.
Psalm 130:5 NRSV
Thought
Even under the best of circumstances, waiting for life to happen is a test of patience. There is perhaps no spiritual discipline more difficult than patience. Patience is a gift of grief taught by grief. It is listening—“Be still, and know that I am God!” (Psalm 46:10 NRSV) Patience is waiting in trust upon God’s will for your life. Patience requires trust. Patience demands that you trust life. In trust there is patience to wait on God.
Prayer
God, through your grace at last I feel ready to move away from grief. Yet for now, going forward seems to be about waiting. I pray for patience as my soul waits for you. Amen.
Assurance
My hope is embedded within patience and trust.
