Physical: Day 1
I love the LORD, because he has heard
my voice and my supplications.
Psalm 116:1 NRSV
Thought
You move resolutely toward acceptance when you incorporate into your life with intention and resolve the changes that have occurred over the course of your grief. You accept that your loved one is physically gone and acknowledge this as permanent. You understand what happened and know that the outcome cannot be changed. Though you may not like it, reluctantly you accept it. You time-date a moment of acceptance, or acceptance simply occurs. As you have faithfully done in grief, you work at acceptance.
Prayer
God, especially since the death of my loved one, I have used the voice of body and heart to cry out to you for help. I am grateful for every evidence of your listening love. Amen.
Assurance
I will consciously consider today what it means to accept.
