“But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.”

“I will show you what someone is like who comes to me, hears my words, and acts on them. That one is like a man building a house, who dug deeply and laid the foundation on rock; when a flood arose, the river burst against that house but could not shake it, because it had been well built.

We look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.

How precious is your steadfast love, O God!

Therefore take up the whole armour of God, so that you may be able to withstand on that evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand therefore, and fasten the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness. As shoes for your feet put on whatever will make you ready to proclaim the gospel of peace. With all of these, take the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.

“‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’”

“If you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

You shall eat the fruit of the labour of your hands; you shall be happy, and it shall go well with you.
